Low carbon case-hardening steel. Soft core, hard surface HRC 58-64 after carburising. For small gears, pins and bushings.
C10 per EN 10083-2 is a low-carbon unalloyed steel primarily used for case-hardening (carburising). Its low C (~0.10%) gives inadequate strength for structural use as-delivered, but after carburising and quenching it achieves a hard surface (HRC 58-64) over a tough core. Ideal for small gears, pins, studs and bushings.
