Ni-Hard 4 -- Ni-Cr white cast iron with best impact resistance of Ni-Hard grades. For slurry pump wet-end parts, ball mill liners and aggregate processing impellers where chromium white iron lacks sufficient toughness.
ASTM A532 Class II Type B (Ni-Hard 4) per ASTM A532. Ni (4-6%) + Cr (8-10%) in as-cast ledeburite matrix gives HRC 54-62 combined with better toughness than Class I Ni-Hard 1. Standard for slurry pump casings, impellers and liners in the phosphate, coal and mineral processing industries where impact loads accompany abrasive wear.
