2036-T4 -- Al-Cu-Mg alloy for automotive outer body panels. Rm 340 MPa T4, excellent dent resistance, bake-hardenable to higher strength after paint oven. For car door outer panels, hood outer panels and body closure applications.
EN AW-2036 (AlCu4MgMn) per EN 573-3. T4 naturally aged: Rm 340 MPa. The classic automotive 2xxx outer panel alloy -- paint-bake response gives Rm increase after 180 C oven (simulating paint cure). Better dent resistance than 6111-T4 for outer panels due to lower yield (better dent energy absorption) combined with paint-bake strengthening. Used historically by Ford (Taurus, etc.) for hood and door outer panels.
